6 Dog Friendly Activities in San Diego to Celebrate Summer

If you’re looking for fun this summer, you can’t go wrong with a visit to San Diego. There are so many fun things to do, but sometimes it can be hard to find activities you can share with your pets. Here are just a few of the many dog friendly activities in San Diego that you can enjoy this summer with your dog.

A day in the park

There are several dog parks in San Diego. The city of San Diego has even curated a list so you can find the closest, or best park suited for you and your dog. Even if it is just taking a stroll or playing with your dog, nothing beats a sunny relaxing day in the park.

Bask in the sun at the beach

Beaches are a classic San Diego summer activity. Why wouldn’t you want to share that with your furry best friend? Dog Beach and Fiesta Island are two of the most popular off-leash dog beaches in San Diego. However, there are several more including Coronado Dog Run Beach and some Del Mar beaches.

Afternoon wine tasting

Many restaurants and wineries allow dogs outside when on the patio, but a couple of them even let you take your dog inside. Be sure to do your research before you go, but here are a couple of our favorite dog-friendly wineries. The San Pasqual winery in Seaport village, the Eagles Nest winery in San Diego County, and Negociant winery in North Park.

Well deserved shopping

We all know shopping for your pet is more fun than shopping for ourselves. Muttropolis in La Jolla and Solana Beach sells everything your dog may need from walking to apparel to travel gear.

Even though shopping for your pet can be fun, sometimes it’s fun to shop for yourself. The Westfield at UTC and most Seaport Village stores are pet friendly, so you can get that much-deserved new summer outfit.

Go to a Padres game

One of America’s favorite pastimes can be enjoyed with your pet at our own Petco park. That’s right, the Padres stadium has semi-private, dog-friendly viewing areas. The Barkyard can accommodate up to four people and two dogs.

A day of watersports

San Diego offers many places where you can rent paddleboards, boats, and surfboards that can accommodate you and your pet. Aqua Adventures, the Sup Connection, and Seaforth Boat Rentals are very pet-friendly, some of them even offer lessons so you and your pet can be seafaring in no time.

With so many dog friendly activities in San Diego, there’s no reason why you both can’t enjoy yourselves while spending time together. Bring Fido is a great resource to find events, restaurants, and activities for you and your pet.
